Do I need to make a reservation?
No, but reservations are encouraged to ensure you have a table when you arrive.
How much does it cost?
We offer a wide range of ready to paint pottery starting at $14, with no studio fees. This includes use of all our glazes, tools and firing in kiln. Our average pottery price is $27.
Is the pottery safe to eat or drink off?
Yes, once your item gets glazed and fired in our kilns it will be food safe.
Do I need to be artistic to paint pottery?
Absolutely not! We offer stamps, stencils, and plenty of samples to inspire you. Our Creative Staff will be available to offer you tips and since our glazes are water based, mistakes easily wipe off.
How old do you need to be to paint?
We welcome all ages.
Do you offer Birthday Parties?
Yes, Painted Earth has private party rooms you can reserve for your party or event.
Are the paints safe for kids? Do I need to bring an apron?
The paints we use are glazes which are non-toxic, lead free and completely safe. They are water based and completely wash out of clothing.
Do you offer classes?
Yes! We offer classes in pottery and canvas painting, clay hand building, glass fusing, and succulent workshops for both kids starting from the age of 2 and adults. Payment and registration are required for all classes, workshops, and camps.
How long does it take to get my project back?
One week. If it takes longer because of special circumstances, we will let you know.
What if I don’t finish my project?
We will carefully wrap up your project in paper to take home with you. You are welcome to come back and finish within 6 months of purchase without any additional fees.
How will I be notified when my project is ready?
When your project is ready, we will send you a text message on the phone you have on file with us.
Will you ship?
Yes, we use UPS stores which charge packaging fees.
Do you offer gift cards?
Yes, we offer online gift cards available to use exclusively on our website and physical gift cards which must be purchased in store and can be used at both locations but not online.
What happens if I cannot pick up my piece when it is ready?
If your piece has not been picked up after 30 days, we will send you another text reminder that you have two weeks to pick it up. Due to our limited space we are not responsible for pottery left after 60 days. If there are special circumstances that prevent you picking up your pottery, please let us know.
Do you fire pieces not purchased at your studios?
No. We are not able to fire pieces not purchased through our studios.
Are you part of a national chain or franchise?
No, we are proud to be a family owned and operated small business that was established over 24 years ago.
Can I bring in food & drinks?
Drinks are welcomed in our front studio (must be 21yrs for adult beverages). Food is allowed in our party room or patio tables.
Do you work with Charter Schools?
Yes, we currently accept purchase orders and enrichment certificates from Julian, Sage Oak, Harbor Springs, River Springs, Mission Vista, Cabrillo Point and Inspire charter schools. Please check with your Educational Specialist to request funds for use in our classes and studio.
